Dear Lord,
When you sent the rain,
that flooded the crops;
I had faith in you.
When the skies opened up
and we wallowed in hail;
I trusted your plan.
When fires raged across dry land
and golden wheat turned black;
I bowed my head and prayed.
You gave me love -
and my heart sang with each beat.
I rejoiced that day.
You took that love away,
and I tore these weary eyes from the sky,
in search of peace.
When you sent the rain,
that flooded the crops;
I had faith in you.
When the skies opened up
and we wallowed in hail;
I trusted your plan.
When fires raged across dry land
and golden wheat turned black;
I bowed my head and prayed.
You gave me love -
and my heart sang with each beat.
I rejoiced that day.
You took that love away,
and I tore these weary eyes from the sky,
in search of peace.
